02/28/2011. Remarks by Alfred Damen: "This was taken when the first KLM Super Constellation arrived at Schiphol on its delivery flight from Burbank, California, USA. As you can see lots of people wanted to have a look at that great bird, that was registered PH-TFS on June 23, 1953.
It was reregistered PH-LKS on March 17, 1954 after it had been upgraded to a Model 1049E. Withdrawn from use in 1962 after the arrival of DC8 jetliners and the loss of the (Government sponsored) New-Guinea route. It was removed from the Dutch register on June 22, 1965, after it had been broken up at Schiphol during 1964."
