09/30/2005. Remarks by Helmut Hillenbrand: "This aircraft is a version of the Bücker Bü 181 Bestmann and was built in Egypt in 1961. Heliopolis Air Works was formed as part of the Egyptian Military Factories Directorate. In contrast to the original Bestmann which had a Hirth 105 engine, the Gomhouria Mk.6 has an 145 hp Continental O-300 engine. The Bestmann was originally designed in 1939 and was one of many types of trainers on which German pilots were trained."
