Douglas 1333 C-133A Cargomaster

01/31/2011. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Built by Douglas at Long Beach as a Model 1333, this C-133A-15-DL was first flown on February 21, 1958, with s/n 56-2001. It was delivered to the 1607th Air Transport Wing of the Military Air Transport Service (MATS), USAF, Dover AFB, Delaware, on March 24, 1958. The aircraft was withdrawn from use on April 7, 1971.

Subsequently it was sold to the Foundation for Airborne Relief for modification as a flying hospital, however these plans were not formalized and the aircraft, registered as N201AR, was sold to Properties Investment Enterprises of Mojave, California, and reregistered N201AB. In 1978 the aircraft was sold to the Cargomaster Corporation of Anchorage, Alaska, however, by April 1979 it was damaged by high winds and never flew again. Thirty years later the almost complete aircraft was still at Mojave."
