02/28/2007. Remarks by Bernhard Klein: "Photo shows the third or Model C version with two oblique mounted 0.787 in (20 mm) cannon fitted behind cockpit not unlike the German 'Schrage Musik' system. The aircraft belonged to the 3rd Chutai (Squadron) of the 53rd Sentai (Group) based at Matsudo Airfield, Chiba Preference, north-west of Tokyo, 1944-1945. The 3rd/53rd was a Home Defense unit as indicated by the white background of the national markings."
