Embraer EMB-145SA R-99A

10/31/2009. One of five R-99As (s/n 6700 to 6704) operated by the FAB (Forca Aerea Brasiliera), this Airborne Early Warning & Control version of the well-known Embraer Regional Jet ERJ-145, flew the 7,560 mls (12,169 km) from its base at Anápolis, Goiás, Brazil to Dubai, in eighteen hours.

The FAB also operates three EMB-145RS R-99Bs (s/n 6750 to 6752) in the Remote Sensing version. The R-99A was recently redesignated E-99 and the type is recognizable by the Ericsson FSR-890 Erieye SLAR (Side-Looking Airborne Radar) on top of the fuselage, while the R-99B has an array of antennas of both fuselage sides and its belly.
