10/15/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "Designated F11C-2 prior to 1934.
On July 1, 1937, Bombing Squadron Two Battle Force (VB-2B), serving in the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga (CV-3), was redesignated Bombing Squadron Three (VB-3). By June 1938, VB-3 had transitioned to Vought SB2U-1 Vindacators so this photo of a VB-3 BFC-2 was taken in 1937 or 1938."
