04/30/2007. Remarks by Jack Mckillop: "The TBM-3E was the last Avenger put into production in WW II. The basic TBM fuselage was lengthened 11.5 in (29,21 cm) and an AN/APS-4 airborne search radar was added; the radome for this radar equipment was located below the starboard wing.

This TBM-3E was manufactured in 1945 by Eastern Aircraft and assigned BuNo. 85886. The last TBM-3E was reported in service on October 31, 1954. This aircraft is shown in the marking of Antisubmarine Squadron Twenty Two (VS-22) ca. 1950."
