07/31/2013. Remarks by
Johan Visschedijk: "This five-seat cabin monoplane, fitted with a 210 hp Continental seven-cylinder air-cooled radial engine, was built under the
TC 528, issued by the US Civil Aviation Authority (CAA, presently Federal Aviation Administration or FAA).
It was registered to Capreol and Austin Air Services on May 26, 1934, under
CofR 1411. The airline was later renamed Austin Air Services, and yet later Austin Airways. CF-AVN was lost December 8, 1942, when it sank through ice while taxiing 25 mls (40 km) south-west of Biscotasing, Ontario."
