01/31/2015. Remarks by
Walter van Tilborg: "The Métisse was a one-of-a-kind homebuilt single-seat sport aircraft constructed by Clifford W.R. Piper of Harpenden, Hertfordshire, England, and it was first flown on December 19, 1999. The aircraft used the wings and tail group of a
Tipsy Nipper and these were combined with an own design steel tube fuselage, a tail wheel type landing gear based on that of the
Monnett Sonnerai and an
Brügger Kolibri style cockpit canopy. The Métisse initially flew with a 65 hp Revmaster 2100D engine, but was later re-engined with an 80 hp Jabiru 2200. Since February 7, 2005, the aircraft is registered to Bryan M. Diggins of Llanfairfechan, Conwy, Wales."
