CATA Oryx

05/31/2018. Remarks by Walter van Tilborg: "The LMK-1 Oryx was an original design two-seat homebuilt aircraft of Yvon Laignel and Gilbert Mathely who formed CATA (Construction Aéronautique de Technologie Avancée), together with Jean-Marie Klinka (hence LMK-1). The Oryx was suited for engines in the 150-200 hp range.

The first Oryx, registered F-PLMK (c/n 01) was built by CATA and it made the first flight on September 18, 1994, powered by an 160 hp Lycoming O-320-B1E engine. The first kit was delivered by CATA to Pascal Gindre of Pontarlier, France in September 1995, this was registered as F-POPG on December 10, 1997 and still is as of this day. A third aircraft was built from a kit by Patrice Fiocconi in Paris, and this has been registered F-POPF (c/n 03-LPCA) since November 26, 2013."
