On Mark Marksman

08/31/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was built as a Douglas A-26B-20-DL Invader for the USAAF, s/n 41-39221, powered by two 2,000 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2800-27 Double Wasp radial engines. It came on the civil registry as N9636C and was converted by On Mark to a Marksman, pressurized, and fitted with two 2,500 hp R-2800-83AM-CB-16/17 Double Wasp engines. In 1963 it was reregistered as N3035S, in 1969 as N256H.

In 1979 it was registered to the Garret Corp. of Phoenix, Arizona, the parent company of AiResearch, also at Phoenix. It was used by the engine company to test the TPE331-series single-shaft turboprop at high altitude, the test engine is seen fitted in the nose of the aircraft.

In April 1983 the aircraft was reregistered as N25GT to the Garret-AiResearch Corp., in December 1988 it was reregistered to Allied Signal Inc., another Garrett division at Phoenix. On January 10, 1992, it was deregistered and donated to the South Mountain High School at Phoenix, were it is on displayed on the campus."
