Canadair CL-2 North Star M2

08/12/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This DC-4M-2 was essentially a pressurized Douglas C-54G Skymaster with Rolls-Royce Merlin liquid cooled engines built to a Trans Canada Air Lines (TCA) specification. This aircraft was delivered to TCA on February 18, 1948 registered CF-TFL and assigned Fleet Number 212.

The aircraft was sold to Overseas Aviation Ltd. on July 1, 1961 and to A.J. Gaul on October 13, 1961. In June 1962, it was sold in the US to T.W. Smith and reregistered N8722R. It was subsequently leased to Avco Electronics as a Range Instrumentation aircraft, and eventually scrapped in Middleton, Ohio, in 1964."
