07/03/2005. The aircraft belonged to No. IX Squadron based at
Brüggen, Germany. This squadron was the first ever to become
operational on the Tornado at RAF Honington in August 1984, and moved
to Brüggen in 1986.
"This Tornado was one among six that showed up at Travis AFB for
an open house. They were on their way to Nellis AFB (Nevada) for
joint activity with the USAF....possibly the annual Red Flag
exercises. The aircraft had been recently repainted as I could see
traces of the desert sand paint scheme used in Desert Storm",
