Dassault M.D.450 Barougan

06/30/2017. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Four Ouragan's were experimentally converted for operation from unprepared airstrips. Named Barougan, a contraction of the Arabic word Baroud (battle) and Ouragan (hurricane), these were fitted with double wheeled main landing gear units with low-pressure tires retracting into a ventral fairing and a tail braking parachute. The first Barougan, serialed 140, made its maiden flight on February 24, 1954, the above pictured second first flew October 23, 1954. Two further copies, serialed 223 and 225, flew in 1957, but further development was abandoned in 1958. Some of the aircraft were reverted to Ouragan standard."
