05/22/2005. Remarks by
Johan Visschedijk: "Designed to Spec C.3/46 for a medium-range tactical transport, General Aircraft Ltd (G.A.L.) received a contract for two prototypes in 1948. Eventually the second prototype was cancelled and G.A.L. merged with Blackburn on January 1, 1949. The prototype made its first flight from Brough on June 20, 1950. Following successful trials an additional aircraft was ordered. This revised design was the
G.A.L.65 Universal Freighter."
