Landray GL1

12/15/2021. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The side-by-side two-seater GL1 was the first of several homebuilt aircraft designed and built by Gilbert Landray of Crosne, near Paris, France. His GL1 followed the Mignet tandem wing principle, but featured an unique fuselage construction. It employed a wing profile very similar of that of the Croses EC-3. The forward wing pivoted on four points and had two control rods by which the pilot could vary the angle of incidence between 2° to 14°. The sole example built was powered by a 90 hp Continental C90-8F four-cylinder horizontally-opposed air-cooled engine.

Under the experimental registration F-WXDV the GL1 made the first flight during September 1976, after it received its CofA the aircraft was reregistered F-PXDV on December 3, 1976. The aircraft was reregistered to Gilbert's son Etienne on February 1, 1999, on November 24, 2003 it was reregistered to Jean Michel Monnereau. By 2014 the GL1 was still active, but presently the aircraft is no longer registered."
