08/31/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The Gnat fighter is used in large numbers by the Indian AF. Folland produced 25 aircraft and a further 20 sets of components that were assembled by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL), and HAL built another 195 aircraft under license. A development known as the Ajeet was built by HAL, two Gnat aircraft were rebuilt as prototypes and 79 aircraft were built from scratch.
The pictured aircraft was a former Indian AF Gnat (s/n E1076) that was donated to the museum in 1993. First displayed in the original Indian AF colour scheme, the aircraft is presently displayed in the RAF Red Arrows colours, although the single-seat version never flew with the aerobatic team."
