Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The J-6 was developed from the MiG-19S and MiG-19P that had built in license at Mukden (later renamed Shenyang), Manchuria, China, after an agreement with the Soviet Government in 1956. Over 2,500 J-6 aircraft have been built, including the F-6 (export) and Q-5 versions."
