05/31/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was built as a P-51D-25-NA and was delivered to the USAAF in 1945, s/n 44-73140. On June 7, 1947 it was taken on strength by the RCAF as a Mustang TF.Mk.IV, s/n 9567. It was sold to the USA on February 25, 1957. Registered as N6337T it was not before July 1962 it was transferred from RCAF Station Carberry, Winnipeg, to Elkhart, Indiana, USA. On November 8, 1967, it was reregistered as N169MD, named "Tangerine" and listed as Racer number "71"; in October 1978 it was reregistered to N51N, renamed "Judy Ann".
In January 1982 it became part of the Canadian Warplane Heritage, Ontario, was registered as C-FBAU and was finished in the colors and markings of No. 424 Squadron (Auxiliary) at Hamilton, Ontario, s/n 9567, coded BA-U. It was destroyed by fire on July 7, 1984 when it crashed during a forced landing at Massey, Ontario, due to an engine failure; the two occupants escaped unhurt. The identity (c/n 122-39599 and s/n 44-73140) of this aircraft was transferred to an unknown restoration project airframe that eventually was registered N314BG in September 1986, later reregistered N51GE."
