10/31/2013. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Initially registered NC5478 this aircraft was built in 1928 by the Advance Aircraft Company at Troy, Ohio, USA. Also in 1928 the company was renamed Waco Aircraft, predecessor of both companies was from 1920 to 1923 the Weaver Aircraft Company. All three companies used the trade name Waco.

NC5478 was not stricken from the register until March 22, 1974. It reappeared on the Canadian register on May 31, 1977, registered to Leavens Aviation Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario as C-GAFD. It was deregistered on May 21, 2004."
