12/31/2008. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Ordered by the USAAC as an AT-6D-NT, s/n 41-34527, it was transferred to the USN as a SNJ-5, BuNo. 43766. Owned by Robert C. Smith of Britt, Iowa, it came on the civil registry as N3242G in 1963, sold to Leslie R. Stolle of Seabrook, Texas, in 1966.
It was resold to 20th Century Fox Film of Hollywood, California in 1968. It was converted and painted to resemble a Japanese Navy AF Nakajima B5N2 "Kate" dive-bomber from the carrier "Akagi" and was used in the 1970 film "Tora! Tora! Tora!".
In February 1971 it was bought by Tallmantz Aviation of Orange County, California, and in August 1987 it was sold to John V. Rawson of Rocky Hill, New Jersey. In March 2003 it was used in the filming of "Pearl Harbor"."
