Grumman G-79 F9F-3 Panther

09/30/2009. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "After service with the USN under BuNo. 123072, this aircraft was sold to be scrapped in 1973. Eventually it was restored to airworthy conditions and registered as N72WP it was flown again on July 30, 1983. On September 19, 1996 it was severely damaged by fire after it ran off the end of the runway on take off from Kalamazoo-Battle Creek Internatinal Airport, Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA; the pilot sustained serious injuries.

Reportedly the aircraft is under restoration to static display at the Air Zoo (previously known as Kalamazoo Aviation History Museum) at Kalamazoo."
