Under the military designation C-9B it was delivered to the USN on October 28, 1982 and named "City of Grand Prairie" it was subsequently operated by Fleet Logistics Support Squadron Fifty Nine (VR-59 "The Lone Star Express") at NAS Dallas, Texas.
On December 12, 2013 the aircraft was transferred to the USMC and operated by Marines Transport Squadron One (VMR-1 "Roadrunners") at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. In 2017 the C-9B was withdrawn from service and in December 2017 VMR-1 moved to NAS/JRB Fort Worth, Texas, and will transfer to the Boeing C-40."
