08/31/2017. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was built as a P-40K-1-CU Warhawk under the USAAF serial 42-45831 (c/n 15632). Indicated by the chalked K 110 on the nose and the British serial FR241 on the fuselage, this aircraft was earmarked for service with the RAF as a Kittyhawk Mk.III. However, this aircraft was never delivered to the RAF, instead it went to Alaska to serve with the USAAF. It was salvaged on March 15, 1945.
As a replacement a later P-40K (42-45922 c/n 15723) was remarked FR241 and delivered to the RAF in July 1942. Coded LD-R it served in the Middle East with 250 Sudan Squadron, at LG 91, Egypt, during Operation Lightfoot. It was struck off charge on October 31, 1943."
