08/31/2007. Remarks by
Johan Visschedijk: "The aircraft was built at Eastleigh as a Spitfire F.Mk.IA,
and powered by an 1,030 hp Rolls-Royce Merlin III twelve-cylinder V-type
engine, it was first flown on February 20, 1941. It was subsequently
converted to a PR.Mk.IG (pictured here in an overall natural metal
paint scheme with a red/white/blue spinner), to a PR.Mk.IV, a
PR.Mk.VA and a PR.Mk.VIIG before it was shipped to Canada on February
10, 1943. It was retired from the RCAF in 1947."
