11/30/2008. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Fitted with a 450 hp Armstrong Siddeley Jaguar fourteen-cylinder two-row radial, the H.E.8 multi-purpose aircraft was a two/three-seat derivate of the H.E.5, specially designed for the Danish Naval Air Service. Six were produced in Germany and delivered between August 17 and December 6, 1928, on arrival they were fitted with two machine guns and designated H.M.II.
Thirteen aircraft were produced at the Danish Luftmarinestation København (NAS Copenhagen) between August 27, 1929 and December 30, 1931, while yet another three were produced between July 28 and August 30, 1938. Thirteen were still operational when Germany occupied Denmark on April 9, 1940, all were subsequently stored, including "98" that had been delivered on September 12, 1928."
