12/31/2012. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This is the DH-4B of the USAAS, serial 64587, which was an engine test bed at McCook Field, Dayton, Ohio, under the Project Number 277. Late 1923 the Army's engineering division started to test the Curtiss D-12 twelve-cylinder liquid-cooled V-engine at engine in earnest, and with success. In 1925 a General Electric mechanically driven centrifugal supercharger was fitted to a D-12. The aircraft was surveyed March 8, 1927."
