01/31/2013. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Three examples of the Kinner C-7 Envoy, a four-passenger light transport, were acquired by the USN in 1936 and assigned as staff transports. All were designated XRK-1 (BuNos. 9747 to 9749) although they were not experimental aircraft. When delivered, each XRK-1 had a 340 hp Kinner R-1044-2 engine but the pictured aircraft was later re-engined with a 400 hp Pratt & Whitney R-985-38 Wasp Junior radial."
