09/30/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The Charger was designed as a multi-purpose STOL aircraft designed to provide close air support and to perform surveillance, armed reconnaissance and utility duties. Construction started in March 1964 and the prototype was flown for the first time at San Diego, California, USA on November 25, 1964. It was powered by two 700 shp Pratt & Whitney of Canada T74 turboprops. In 1965 it was destroyed in a crash after the USN pilot had ejected safely.

Only the prototype was built and it was the last aircraft produced under the Convair company name."
