11/30/2007. Remarks by Dan Shumaker: "This was the sole CW-19L built in 1935, and it was tested with fixed 'wing slats' that were fastened to the leading edge of each wing to prolong effectiveness of aileron control at high angle of attack. These were later discarded.

The all-metal plane was eventual re-engined with 145 hp Walter Scarab engines and became the CW-19W Coupe."
