Remarks by Walter van Tilborg: "In general, the Bushmaster has usually a Piper PA-20 or PA-22 (and sometimes a PA-16) as a basis and there are quite a few built/converted) in Canada and the USA. Differences are usually a stretched fuselage, wings, other more powerful engine, larger doors, bush wheels, etc.
The MacKenzie Bushmaster is based on the Javelin V6 STOL, while the V6 STOL is in turn also developed from the Piper PA-20, especially adapted for a Ford V6 car engine.
