08/31/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The RLM ordered Fieseler to design and produce a high performance radio controlled pilot less drone for use as a target for anti-aircraft artillery. The drones were to be carried beneath the He 111 and released at altitude, and subsequently controlled by radio. Three prototypes, of wooden construction, designated Fi 157 and fitted with a 60 hp Hirth HM60 engine, were produced and delivered in 1937; all three crashed.

Fieseler developed a piloted version for remote radio control experiments, the pictured Fi 158. Fitted with a single-seat cockpit, a retractable landing gear and powered by an 160 hp Hirth HM 506 A six-cylinder air-cooled engine, the sole example flew in 1938. It was eventually destroyed in a bomb raid."
